ascilite 2005 Step-A-Thon for Charity

During ascilite2005, we will be aiming to collectively log as many steps as possible for the conference period.Traditionally conference time is sit, eat, talk and think time. However this year we encourage you to consider your balance and mobility for lifestyle fidelity!

You can borrow a pedometer for the duration of the conference at the registration area and then log your details

We will be providing this data to QUT researchers as they progress work being done in physical activity and health.

At the end of the conference, the total step tally will be announced and we will be aiming to donate $1 for every 10000 steps to a charity or health research program.

Conferences provide opportunities for us to take time out to think and network and learn. The ascilite conference has always been an opportunity to reflect on the wonderful aspects of the social and spiritual (meaning and purpose) aspects of our work. This year the focus on balance provides an incentive for us to consider our own life balance and its impact on learning, teaching and research.

On your arrival you will find in your conference bag a listing of Wellness related activities in the localities surrounding QUT. Enjoy!
