  • The presentation of refereed full papers
  • The presentation of refereed short papers
  • Workshops
  • Symposia
  • Poster sessions.

The conference is a time to meet with peers and educational technology industry representatives to exchange ideas and information. The conference also provides memorable opportunities for social interaction.

Sponsors add a critical dimension to the conference through product displays, presentations and engagement with the academic community. For those companies interested in finding out about sponsorship opportunities associated with the Annual Conference please contact the .

ascilite 2013, Sydney

For ascilite's 30th anniversary in 2013, conference hosts Macquarie University hope to cast our minds towards the future through the conference theme, 'Electric Dreams'.

A dream can be a vision, a prediction, an aspiration - but it can also be a reflection, a pastiche of thoughts, or a different form of consciousness. Our aim is to inspire new and creative ways of thinking about the use of computers in education - to dream while we're awake.

The occasion of our 30th anniversary also offers delegates the opportunity to reflect on where we've come from, and how that might inform where we're going.

We look forward to all the digital dreamers (and cyber somnambulists!) joining us at the 30th ascilite Conference 2013 at Macquarie University, Sydney!

The History of ascilite Conferences

The first three conferences held were CALITE conferences. Queensland hosted these conferences in 1983 and 1984 and Melbourne in 1985. The first ascilite conference was held in Adelaide in 1986 and an ascilite conference has been subsequently held every year since except for 1990. In 1990, the ascilite conference was subsumed under the World Congress of Computers in Education, Sydney, where ascilite hosted a strand called CBT 90.
