ascilite Representatives

The Role of an ascilite Representative

ascilite Representatives (also referred to as ascilite Reps) are self-appointed ascilite members who take on a role to actively promote ascilite's aims and objectives within and across institutions. ascilite Reps provide a valuable service by proactively supporting members at their local campuses and by raising awareness of the following three key ascilite initiatives:

1. Annual Conference
   
2. Community Mentoring Programme
   
3. Early Career Research Grant
   

ascilite Reps are involved in the following activities:

1. Circulation of the conference call for papers with reminders that the ascilite conference is a fully refereed forum for publishing in the area of technologies in teaching and learning in higher education;
   
2. Promotion of the Community Mentoring Programme;
   
3. Instigating and progressing discussions about emerging interests and identifying potentially useful workshops to address these interests;
   
4. Promotion of the ascilite pre-conference workshops;
   
5. Encouraging new researchers to join ascilite and to present their work at the ascilite conference and or in peer reviewed journals such as AJET;
   
6. Encouraging honours and postgraduate students to become involved in ascilite;
   
7. Promotion of AJET as ascilite's publishing forum.
   

ascilite Reps are invited to attend the ascilite Representatives' meeting held annually at the ascilite conference. This is a time to share experiences and to discuss strategies for sustainable activities of benefit to the membership. During the year, ascilite Reps share news of local events of interest with other ascilite members through the 'ascilite Reps' section in the ascilite Bulletin.
