Project Title: Using virtual world technologies to improve the professional decision-making capacities of pre-graduate teachers.
The project addressed the following research questions:
- How can virtual world technologies be used to improve student engagement in learning in higher education?
- What benefits can be realised in the education of professional ethics through the use of virtual world technologies?
- What are some of the hindrances to the use of virtual world technologies as a learning and teaching tool in higher education?

2005In 2005 the ascilite Research Grant enabled the development of a showcase of innovations in online assessment. A collection of eight case studies resulted from a collaborative development of Southern Cross University and the University of Wollongong.
